1. Hello and welcome to Female Voice! We’ve already seen the name of Veritas in many Greek sites. The band seems to continuously gain popularity here in Greece. What feedback do you get from Greece and all over the world? We’ve gotten great feedback from all over the world. Greek fans are definitely passionate about the band!
2. You are recording a new album. What do you expect from it and when will it be released? We are getting closer to a label deal and hopefully it will be available worldwide during the summer of 2023. It should be 12 songs and around 45 minutes of music
3. Is there interest from any labels to release the new Veritas album? Can you reveal the album’s title or any song titles? Yes, we have a few different labels that have shown interest. We are just trying to decide which will benefit the band the best. We aren’t releasing the album title yet but a few song titles are Creation Groans, (something a bit heavier than we’ve done before) Somniloquy(a fast paced song with two separate guitar parts).
4. Veritas debut cd Threads of Fatality is a decent album. Which changes does your new album bring for Veritas?
It still has the Veritas sound but is a natural progression for the band in songwriting. Everyone is more comfortable with the writing process
5. What inspires Veritas lyrics? Denny would be a better person to ask but from what I can tell, he writes about things he’s passionate about that inspire him.
6. Many reviewers have written that Veritas is influenced from bands like Queensryche, Crimson Glory and Fates Warning. We’ve found in Veritas influences from rock to thrash metal. What do you think about it all and in which ways have you sculptured your personal sound so far? Those are definitely some of our influences but there are so many more. When I write, I try to write music that I would like if I wasn’t in the band. I never try to write in any particular style or sit down to particularly write a ballad or something progressive. I want it to be melodic and interesting to play but not so complicated that non-musicians won’t want to listen.
7. What do you have in mind when writing a song for Veritas?
I generally just play guitar until I come up with a melody or piece that catches my ear and then I build on it. Some songs come together fast others could take months but I’m always writing.
8. Will you go on a tour after the new album is out or you prefer to play only selected dates?
Who will you cover the drum position for the band? We are looking forward to getting out and playing this summer. We are looking at a few different festivals and depending on logistics, a tour may be in the future as well. We are currently auditioning/working with a couple local drummers for live performances.
9. Which new bands do you like, if any?
A few maybe not new bands I like are Gus G and Firewind, Manimal, A-Z
10. What would be the ultimate goal for Veritas? We would like to play music and be able to support ourselves, tour, meet our fans, and get to see the world
11. Let’s close the interview with a message for our readers. Thank you for your great music that has been on my home stereo for too long, and of course good luck with the new album! Thank you for the interview and for supporting Veritas! And thank you to all who have supported us and enjoyed our music worldwide! We hope to see you on the road
